Reston-Herndon Branch of AAUW Ink Cartridge Recycling Program

The AAUW (American Association of University Women) promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change.  It is open to any graduate holding an associate or equivalent degree (or higher) from a qualified educational institution.  The group has monthly meetings from Sept. to June which generally feature a guest speaker on a community, educational or social topic.
The Reston-Herndon Branch carries out a weekly tutoring/ mentoring program for “academically at-risk” girls at Forest Edge Elementary, sponsors a GEMS Workshop each March at Dogwood Elementary to encourage girls to enter the math and science fields and in 2008 sponsored a delegation of Russian citizens who came to the US to observe our presidential election to learn more about American politics and our election process.  More info can be found at: http://seiz2day.com/aauw

As a fundraiser to support its projects, Reston-Herndon AAUW recycles printer cartridges of all types.    If you would like to contribute to this project by putting your old printer cartridges from your home or office to use, you can drop them off at 1705-Unit 12 or contact Susan Merk at sbmerk@verizon.net
